  • Overview and Responsibilities

    The Discovery Technology Specialist supports the Viacom Legal Practice Support department’s management of litigation, regulatory and investigation related electronic data administration including the preservation, collection and processing of such data as well as facilitating document productions to outside counsel and requesting parties. Responsibilities of the Discovery Technology Specialist include, but are not limited to:

     

    • Technical system administration of legal hold, data processing and review software
    • Liaise daily with internal teams including InfoSec, Messaging, MTS floor techs, and IT infrastructure to support legally required data preservation and collection efforts
    • Support and manage data indexing, data promotion and preparing data for export and/or document production in multiple formats for outside counsel, requesting parties and/or regulatory bodies
    • Persistent, real-time logging and status reporting of case data throughout entire eDiscovery lifecycle

    Basic Qualifications

    • A minimum of 2+ year of experience in eDiscovery is preferred
    • Experience as a legal assistant and or a paralegal a plus
    • Familiarity with eDiscovery software such as Recommind, Axcelerate or Relativity strongly preferred
    • Must have strong Outlook, MS Office (especially Excel and MS Access) skills
