Nickelodeon Standards and Practices is at the forefront of the children's media and advertising industry in shaping and implementing expanded Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA) personal identity protections and policies across all of its multi-network digital content, advertising and partnerships. The Specialist for Nickelodeon Kids & Family Standards and Practices supports the commercial clearance team by reviewing material, communicating with clients, and entering accurate data and clear instructions in the Wide Orbit database to protect Viacom from FCC violation. The review process extends to ensuring that all third party advertising, as well as internally-created advertising and marketing extensions, comply with FTC regulatory guidelines, industry self-regulation (CARU, MPAA, ESRB, CFBAI) and Nickelodeon best practices.

In addition to commercial clearance, the Specialist will participate in the daily review of commercial logs for Nick, Nicktoons, Nick Jr. and TeenNick to ensure that we comply with the Children’s Television Act.  From time to time, the Specialist will provide administrative support and participate in competitive viewing.
