  • Overview and Responsibilities

    Viacom’s Corporate Research department is seeking a Manager, Multi-Platform Measurement & Analytics to provide actionable insights into how Viacom’s and competitive video properties are being consumed across television, digital and SVOD platforms.

     

    The ability to interpret data & provide relevant context to explain industry shifts and usage across multiple platforms will be key to success in this role.  Executive Management leverages this team’s insights to help drive corporate strategy.  The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, an inquisitive nature, attention to detail and a love of media.  

     

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Develop and produce regular & ad-hoc reporting, providing various corporate stakeholders with an understanding of how Viacom’s brand portfolio is consumed by distributor and platform.
    • Utilize multiple software programs to collect, process, and visualize data involving various media metrics; software tools include products associated with Nielsen, ComScore, and Tableau.
    • Work independently and with direction from the Sr. Director and Senior Vice President to identify and communicate key audience trends to Executive Management, supporting frequent inquiries, quarterly earnings calls, and periodic board meetings.
    • Collaborate with internal clients, including ad sales research/strategy, brand research & content distribution teams to address and inform important questions relating to Viacom and competitive TV landscape.
    • Attendance/participation in relevant media industry events, in-person and/or online.

     

    Basic Qualifications

    The candidate will be proficient in research methods, with a passion for television, and a willingness to learn and work with others.

    • 3-5 years of experience in television / video audience research
    • High level of interest in the development & enhancement of processes to transform data into actionable insights.
    • Media math proficiency with the ability to apply to daily requests, deep dives, and analyses
    • Expertise with relevant measurement services and systems including Nielsen’s NPOWER, Star Media, Lake 5, Comscore/Rentrak’s ODE and TVE. Knowledge of ComScore, and Adobe SiteCatayst is desired.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams across Viacom – including corporate groups.
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
    • Expert user of Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Familiarity with Tableau or similar Business Intelligence tools is desired.
    • Bachelor’s degree required
