  • Overview and Responsibilities

    The Director, Analytics in the Audience Science Group (ASG) will be responsible for the development and delivery of data for performance marketing initiatives across the Viacom portfolio. The ability to envision and implement data solutions while anticipating business needs will be key to success in this role. The ideal candidate should have an inquisitive nature with ability to problem solve, strong decision-making skills, and high attention to detail.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead the design, build, and development of all performance marketing dashboards
    • Anticipate internal client’s needs and proactively design and implement solutions
    • Build, deploy, and maintain critical analytics solutions that process big data quickly, accurately, and at scale
    • Define and provide business requirements to technical cross-teams
    • Ensure key performance data, including first and third party, is captured across platforms for measurement and attribution
    • Provide and effectively present strategic data-drive recommendations across marketing channels
    • Work closely with Strategic Planning, Media Execution, Research, Marketing, and Data Science teams to develop KPIs, reporting methodologies, and models that are aligned to campaign and brand goals
    • Manages and/or mentors Analytics Managers and Analysts
    • Attend/participate in relevant media industry events, in-person and/or online

    Basic Qualifications

    • A BS degree in a quantitative discipline economics, biostatistics, computer science, or related technical field preferred. Bachelor’s degree is required
    • 7-9 years of experience in digital marketing and analytics role with experience in programmatic and social measurement (ie Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, DoubleClick Bid Manager, Tapad, etc.)
    • Experience in SQL and/or Python required (R a plus, but not required)
    • Intermediate to Advanced skills in Tableau or similar Business Intelligence tool
    • Expert in digital measurement including social platforms (ie Facebook/Instagram, Twitter, Google product suite), ticketing buying platforms (ie Ticketmaster, Frontgate, AXS, Eventbrite, etc), site analytics tools (ie Google Analytics, Omniture), social media and marketing platforms (ie Sprinklr, Spredfast, Crimson Hexagon)
    • Strong knowledge of one or more analytics disciplines including A/B Testing, CRM, Predictive and Propensity Modeling, Marketing Mix Modeling and Attribution, Business Intelligence
    • Entrepreneurial drive, passion, and natural curiosity to understand digital advertising and media measurement
    • Team player with a “can-do” attitude, who exhibits a deep passion for data, analytics, and problem solving
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills
    • Expert in Excel and PowerPoint
    • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams across Viacom – including corporate groups
    • Knowledge of working in a big data environment with distributed database or storage systems for distributed processing

    • Must be comfortable with an ever-changing digital landscape, flexible to evolving business needs
