Overview and Responsibilities

Position supports the Viacom Legal Practice Support department’s management of litigation, regulatory and investigation related electronic data administration including the preservation, collection and processing of such data as well as facilitating data analysis by internal legal staff  and document productions to outside counsel and requesting parties. Responsibilities of the Discovery Technology Analyst include, but are not limited to:

Basic Qualifications

  • Administration of legal hold, data processing and review software
  • Daily coordination with relevant company departments including InfoSec, Messaging, MTS floor techs, and IT infrastructure to manage legally required data preservation actions
  • Generating real time case management reporting regarding data integrity and discovery status
  • Ensuring the proper execution of documented data management processes and troubleshooting and resolving technology issues with both in house personnel and vendors as appropriate to achieve solutions
  • Designing and running data analytics on large sets of raw information and preparing usable reports to facilitate multiple, simultaneous data mining initiatives relating to the company’s docket of litigations, regulatory events and investigations
  • Building workflows and automation into existing processes to increase efficiency

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • A minimum of 2+ year of experience in eDiscovery
  • Experience as a legal assistant and or a paralegal a plus
  • Familiarity with eDiscovery software such as Recommend or Relativity strongly preferred
  • Must have strong Outlook, MS Office (especially Excel and MS Access) skills
  • Programming skills and experience a plus
