Overview and Responsibilities

Responsible for the oversight and accounting for Viacom Media Networks (“VMN”) LATAM region capital expenditures and leases.

 

  • Create facility rent purchase orders and manage the monthly rent payments.
  • Post monthly journal entries.
  • Prepare monthly lease reclassifications.
  • Prepare fixed asset, capital asset and lease/rent account balance roll forwards and analyses.
  • Prepare account reconciliations for fixed assets, capital assets and lease/rent accounts
  • Conduct monthly depreciation, amortization and rent variance analysis.
  • Review and follow-up on LATAM capital expenditure requests.
  • Approve budgets for capital projects
  • Work with LATAM to improve presentation of requests.
  • Support the capital reporting needs of the worldwide finance organization.
  • Understand and implement capital policy.
  • Maintain transponder distribution report.
  • Conduct periodic asset impairment procedures.
  • Prepare accounting analysis for fixed asset sales/disposals/transfers.
  • Review and input depreciation expense forecasts.
  • Calculate and communicate allocation of depreciation expense.
  • Support internal and PWC auditors and Viacom Tax with requests.
  • Assist with ad hoc Viacom and internal management requests.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 0-2 years relevant work experience
  • Strong working knowledge of general accounting principles, concepts and processes

  • Demonstrate the ability to perform effective work load prioritization and management
  • Demonstrate the ability to be a self-starter and take initiative and follow through
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to be thorough with attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills (oral, written & listening)
  • Fluent in Spanish a strong plus
  • Prior Big Four experience a plus
  • CPA (or equivalent) a plus
  • Prior entertainment & media experience a plus
  • Experience in HFM, Longview and SAP a strong plus
