Overview and Responsibilities

Nickelodeon seeks a dynamic and motivated Creative Resources Director to identify global creative development resources and direct the creative work-flow in the Nickelodeon Experience Design studio.

We’re looking for best-in-class firms as well as individuals to optimize the composition of the development teams for our many projects around the world, with particular focus on North America, China, Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. This role is responsible for researching and recruiting firms and individuals covering all disciplines of the themed entertainment and hospitality industry. The position is a combination of creative, interpersonal, and managerial roles.

Under license, Nickelodeon partners with experienced developers and operators across the world in the full breadth of branded experiences including attractions and exhibits, entertainment, and resorts.This position focuses on the development of resources to meet the ever-evolving needs of both the global project portfolio.This role reports to the VP, Creative Development, Nickelodeon Experience Design.

 


Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate creative development firms from many regions of the world, including both mature and developing markets to plan, concept and design all aspects of theme parks and resorts
  • Identify global production companies to develop live entertainment programming
  • Attend industry conferences and trade shows to stay current on global resources and trends
  • Develop relationships with best-in-class external firms and individuals
  • Determine the appropriate team composition to suit the needs of each project
  • Contribute to the development process and suggest solutions to complex scenarios
  • Collaborate with multiple creative teams within Nickelodeon and utilize internal resources as needed
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop schedules and budgets for development assignments
  • Analyze and balance creative workload for existing design staff, project based employees and vendors
  • Maintain a consistent team producing high quality creative
  • Maintain consistency in the development and archiving of project assets

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in the development of themed experiences

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Extensive knowledge of the integrated workflow in the themed experience industry
  • Extensive knowledge of the process around long-term development and execution
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Strategic, innovative, and creative thinking
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and inspire a creative design team
  • Ability to direct work on complex projects through clear communication, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to details
  • Strong negotiation skills, diplomacy, and cross-functional collaborative skills and international travel required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, drafting software, sketch up, 3D programs
  • Passion for the Nickelodeon Brand and for making the world a more playful place
