Director, Audience Engagement and Social Media


Overview and Responsibilities

Lead all audience engagement and social media efforts for CMT, supporting the CMT linear television network – specifically, launching and sustaining new and returning original scripted and unscripted series, live tentpoles, music events, and specials – and larger CMT media brand, driving tune-in, building dedicated communities, strengthening brand loyalty, and generating revenue. Oversee CMT’s robust network of owned media accounts, from setting innovative and optimized strategies to commanding all day-to-day execution in collaboration with senior manager and directing business partnerships with content studios and creators and leading in-depth analysis, real-time optimization, strategic partnerships, and regular experimentation and innovation. This position is located in one of the fastest growing cities in America, Nashville, TN and it reports to the VP Consumer Marketing.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, business or related field.
  • A minimum of seven years of escalating experience in marketing, social media, public relations or communications.
  • Significant expertise in entertainment and particularly television tune-in space, ideally including hands-on experience with all major categories of linear programming – scripted drama, scripted comedy, unscripted/reality, soft-scripted reality, competition, live award shows, music tentpoles, documentaries, daily talk show, acquisitions including syndicated comedies and studio movies
  • Robust portfolio of contacts and established relationships with all major and emerging social media / content publishing platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, SnapChat, etc), content creators/influencers, creative agencies.
  • Prior experience leading and managing third party vendor relationships.
  • Prior supervisory and project management experience is required.
