Overview and Responsibilities

The Packaging Design Team is responsible for upholding the strict packaging design standard of excellence NCR has established with its property packaging guides. The Associate Art Director will support the Packaging Art Director in the build out and adaptation of packaging usage guides by elaborating on concepts created by NCR property design and the Packaging AD.

The Associate Art Director leads the packaging approvals group providing licensees written and visual direction, ensuring all submissions adhere to the property packaging guides and establishing brand continuity across all packaging platforms. The Associate Art Director will also aid in the roll-out of new packaging guides assisting the AD in presenting guidelines to both internal and external teams, and licensees by giving 101’s . The Associate Art Director is responsible for ensuring all tracker submissions are reviewed and addressed in a timely manner, and that workload is assigned and managed appropriately.


Responsibilities

 

  • Assist in the production and development of property packaging guides
  • Ensure the proper use of all packaging guides through Tracker Feedback, guide presentations and 101’s
  • Manage Tracker submission workflow
  • Stay current in packaging design trends
  • Build positive working relationships with licensees, business teams, and NCR Creative teams
  • Route design creative and receive feedback from Art Director
  • Meet with Project Manager to discuss project goals, schedules and deadlines
  • Responsible for guiding the development and training of junior designers and overseeing Sr Designers

Basic Qualifications

  • Approximately 5 years of design, experience
  • Must have computer knowledge in Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign

  • Excellent in typography, layout, packaging design, production and use of color
  • Creative thinker and problem solver
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
  • Team player
