Overview and Responsibilities

The Senior Producer will lead efforts to conceptualize and produce multiplatform content to be consumed across all platforms for Comedy Central’s original series. This position serves as the strategic and creative lead for all multiplatform initiatives pertaining to series assigned to the particular producer.


Applicants should have experience developing content across desktop, social and mobile/tablet media, with an eye towards the convergence of these platforms along with a background in community engagement and growth. S/he should be able to conceive innovative, on-brand multiplatform content and articulate their vision to senior executives and show talent.


The ideal candidate must be comfortable working collaboratively within a large, multi-layered organization. S/he will work closely with many groups within the department and elsewhere in Comedy Central. The ability to develop relationships and communicate effectively with Comedy Central’s Brand Creative, Series Development, Product Development, Editorial, Design, Video Production, Technology, Marketing, and Ad Sales teams is essential.



  • Management of direct reports and their workload and the development of direct reports skill set
  • Ownership over priority series which includes setting Multiplatform benchmarks, determining series’ Multiplatform creative & strategy, SnapChat Discover creative & execution, Programming & Marketing planning
  • Development of shoulder video content to enhance extension of priority series
  • Multiplatform planning and execution of tent pole events, such as The Roast, on desktop, mobile and social platforms
  • Management of relationships with high level talent and executive producers on key franchises such as The Daily Show and Broad City
  • Understanding and interpreting key analytics and research, disseminating of research to talent and executives to inform and educate
  • Lead creative development and innovation around all series and strategies as they relate to the evolving Multiplatform landscape
  • Lead creative expression of series in the social place with an eye towards audience growth and fan engagement
  • Support the brand and marketing goals for series and season launches as determined by Marketing

  • Partnering with Product Development and Technology group in ideating and executing products to serve series and event needs

  • Work with Project Managers to ensure that the process, workflow, documentation, and tools are upheld and/or improved to department standards

  • Develop ways to increase site traffic and optimize advertising revenue wherever possible

  • Partner with Press to determine opportunities to showcase Multiplaform experiences with partnering outlets


Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of multiplatform content production experience. Preferably at a major commercial media, entertainment or creative brand or interactive agency
  • Experience managing teams, mentoring and providing creative guidance
  • A proven track record in developing experiences that drive engagement on social media
  • Some experience producing iOS, Android apps
  • Working knowledge and understanding of digital technologies, including HTML, CSS, XML, and familiarity with Photoshop and Illustrator

Additional Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with digital analytics and tools such as Omniture, ComScore, Google Analytics, and Facebook Insights
  • Intimate familiarity with Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Snapchat and other major social networks
